Malaysia's diverse community — especially fans with Indian and Sri Lankan roots — has long followed cricket with great passion. Cricket is one of the most complex and compelling sports to bet on — precisely because so much can happen over such a long stretch of time. Unlike football's 90 minutes, a T20 match runs around 3 hours, an ODI can stretch to 8 hours, and a Test match can last up to five full days. That means betting opportunities are constantly available, with far more room to make informed decisions as the game unfolds.
At joker88, we understand that many Malaysian players are serious cricket fans — especially when IPL season rolls around and the excitement is at its peak. That's why we've invested in a real-time odds engine that updates every ball, offer 80+ market types per match, and provide high-quality live streaming so you can watch and bet simultaneously without switching between two different apps.
The Indian Premier League, or IPL, is the most-watched T20 cricket league in the world — and Malaysia is no exception. Every IPL season, running from March to May, is the busiest period on the joker88 cricket platform, with fans from across Malaysia flocking to bet on their favourite teams such as Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
What makes the IPL so thrilling to bet on is its exceptionally high unpredictability. An underdog side can surge when their star players hit top form, while a heavily favoured team can collapse in the blink of an eye. joker88 provides comprehensive head-to-head statistics, venue records, and player performance data for the current season to help you make better-informed betting decisions.
The joker88 cricket platform covers all three main formats of the game. T20 is the most popular among Malaysian players — its short duration and high-intensity action mean every ball counts and odds can shift dramatically within minutes. ODI offers more room for strategic analysis and measured betting, while Test cricket delivers the deepest betting experience with specialist markets such as innings totals and individual session outcomes.
One market that joker88 players love is the "First Powerplay Runs" in T20 and ODI formats. The first six overs are a critical phase where the batting side looks to score as many runs as possible before the Powerplay restriction ends and fielders return. With the right read on pitch conditions and the opposition's bowling form, this market offers excellent value.
